Popular Australian international cricketer Andrew Symonds passed away yesterday, May 14, 2022, after he was involved in a car crash outside Townsville at age 46. Symonds played all three formats as a batting all-rounder as a right-handed, middle-order batsman and alternated between medium space and off-spin bowling.
Andrew made his local debut in Cricket for the Queensland state team in the 1994-1945 season where he scored
more than 5,000 runs and hit more than 100 wickets for his state. Symonds later on in his career played for the English cricket teams including Gloucestershire, Kent, Lancashire, and Surrey.
After his stay at these teams, he had been considered an English qualified player, but he refused the offer stating that his allegiances stayed with Australia after he was given the opportunity to tour England with an England A team.

Andrew was born on June 9, 1975, in Birmingham, England. It is believed that Andrew’s biological parents were of West Indian descent and Danish background. He was adopted when he was three months old by adoptive parents Ken and Barbara Symonds. The couple later moved to Australia shortly after his adoption where he was raised.
There is not much information about Andrew’s adoptive mother Barbara apart from her nationality and name. She and her husband Ken were English.
Andrew was succeeded by his wife Laura Symonds and children Chloe and Billy Symonds who are still currently young.
