Samaria Jefferson is the wife of the American professional football player Van Jefferson. The pair first met while they were in their twenties. Samaria met the man who would become her husband while both were students at Ravenwood High School in Brentwood, Tennessee.
His college football career continued to be followed by her as he was recruited to play for the University of Mississippi’s Ole Miss Rebels football team.

Media reports indicate that, during the Rams’ game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, Jefferson’s wife and high school sweetheart, Samaria Jefferson, was taken to the hospital and later released.
According to The Athletic, after the Rams’ victory, the team’s first Super Bowl victory since 2000. Jefferson ran onto the field with his daughter and “sprinted through the locker room” to rush her to the hospital, according to the story. The Atlantic earlier stated that the couple’s first child was due on February 17, according to the publication.
As the family was prepared to leave, Josina Anderson spoke with Jefferson’s father, who informed her that “the midwife stated she had approximately one hour to go until birth,” according to CBS Sports. In a post on his Instagram account on Sunday, Jefferson shared a snapshot of himself and his newborn kid, with the simple remark “x2!”.
