Michael Remmers plays offensive lineman in American football for the National Football League’s Kansas City Chiefs. He attended Oregon State University and finished his career with the sixth-most starts in school history.
Remmers was born in the city of Portland, in the state of Oregon. His father, Wally Remmers, was a former Oregon State University football player in the mid-1970s, and his older brother, Vic, was a former Oregon State University basketball player from 2002 to 2006.
After high school, he went on to play football at Jesuit High School in Portland, where he was a three-year letterwinner at left tackle and defensive end, earning second-team All-Metro accolades at both positions while helping Jesuit to two state football championships during his varsity career.
Although Remmers was a senior offensive lineman who stood at 6’5″ (1.96 m) and weighed just 220 pounds (100 kg), he did not receive a single scholarship offer. However, because of his academic qualifications, he was offered the option to participate as a preferred walk-on for Ohio State. Remmers also played basketball for Jesui, earning one letter in the process.
