How Did Naomi Irion Die?
Naomi Irion, an 18-year-old woman who was kidnapped from a Walmart parking lot in Nevada earlier this month, was discovered dead this week in Churchill County.
On Tuesday, investigators from the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office got a tip concerning Irion’s disappearance, which led them to a possible gravesite.
“The corpse of an adult Caucasian female was found from that grave location, and the body was brought to the Washoe County Medical Examiners Office for an autopsy and to confirm identification,” said the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday evening.
Irion grew raised in a variety of locations with her family because her father works for the United States State Department in the diplomatic service.
She relocated from South Africa to Nevada in August of last year, where she was living with her brother, Casey Valley.
She parked her car in a Walmart parking lot on March 12 and planned to take an employee bus to her job at a Panasonic facility, but the FBI claimed she was “abducted.”
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office revealed surveillance video depicting a suspect traveling from a neighboring homeless camp to the parking lot and getting into the driver’s seat of Irion’s car, then driving away in an “unknown route with Naomi in the passenger seat.”
It’s unclear if the guy in the CCTV video is Driver. On March 15, three days after she was last seen in the parking lot, police discovered Irion’s car near Fernley, Nevada.
