What Happened To Chinelo In Nigeria?
Chinelo was shot on the Kaduna-bound train.
Megafu Chinelo, a doctor, has been declared dead, just hours after she announced on Twitter that she had been shot on the Kaduna-bound train.
This was confirmed by the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) on Tuesday.
Innocent AO Ujah, the president of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), stated in an official statement saying “We are deeply saddened by the tragic, horrific, and preventable death of one of our members, Dr. Chinelo Megafu Nwando, who was reported to have died from gunshot wounds sustained when the train she was on from Abuja to Kaduna was attacked by suspected bandits,”
Dr. Chinelo earlier tweeted, shortly after the train from Abuja to Kaduna was attacked by terrorists. she stated “I’m in the train, I have been shot. Please pray for me,”
According to reports, she worked at the St. Gerald’s Hospital in Kaduna, Nigeria.
Another Twitter user said that Chinelo had just resigned from her job and was making plans to leave the United States.
A few kilometers from the train’s last transit point, Rigasa station, the event occurred at 7:45 p.m. in Dutse hamlet in Chikun Local Government Area.
The gunmen allegedly started the fire on the train, shooting erratically before eventually gaining entry.
However, neither the police nor the government of Kaduna State has confirmed how many people were killed in the incident.
It was only on Tuesday that a photo of a woman’s body found on the subway started making the rounds on social media, and many people were quick to express their grief.
