The Philadelphia Eagles are a Philadelphia-based American football team. The Eagles are a member club of the NFL’s National Football Conference East division. At Lincoln Financial Field, the team plays its home games.
The Eagles have had some of the greatest Linebackers in the franchise history. Players such as Chuck Bednarik, William Thomas, and Seth Joyner have all made an impact as some of the greatest linebackers for the Eagles.

1. Chuck Bednarik
Bednarik is perhaps the greatest Eagles player in franchise history.
He was drafted first overall in 1949 and spent his whole 14-year career with the organization. The Eagles won the 1960 NFL title thanks to Bednarik’s game-saving tackle on Jim Taylor in the final seconds. Throughout his career, Bednarik was a member of eight Pro Bowls and ten All-Pro teams.
2. Jerry Robinson
The Eagles selected linebacker Jerry Robinson with the 21st overall choice in the first round of the 1979 NFL draft.
As expected, Robinson made a single appearance in the Pro Bowl (1981). he was voted to the All-Pro first team twice and the second team once. After six seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, Robinson signed with the Los Angeles Raiders.
3. Seth Joyner
Seth Joyner was drafted in the eighth round out of UTEP in 1986. Following a modest rookie season, he converted from right to left linebacker and quickly established himself as a key contributor.
Joyner recorded a career-high 7.5 sacks in 1990, a year before being named to his first Pro Bowl with 110 tackles, 6.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries with two returns for touchdowns, and three interceptions.
4. Bill Bergey
As a rookie in 1969, Bill Bergey was selected to the final AFL All-Star game. Bergey joined the Philadelphia Eagles in 1974 and recorded five interceptions and 3.5 sacks en route to his first NFL Pro Bowl appearance and All-Pro selection. In 1975, he was named to the All-Pro team once more, leading the league with six fumble recoveries.
5. William Thomas
In the 4-3 style, Thomas lined up as a right linebacker. He finished his first campaign with 94 tackles and two interceptions. He followed that up with 107 tackles and 6.5 sacks the next season. He began each game for four consecutive seasons beginning in 1993.
In 1994, Thomas amassed another six sacks. In 1995, he was selected to his first of two consecutive Pro Bowls after intercepting seven passes.
