Rapper Coolio Cause of Death

Coolio

Coolio, whose real name was Artis Leon Ivey and a member of the rap group Gangsta’s Paradise, passed away at the age of 59 after collapsing at a friend’s house.

The news of his death was first reported by his representative on Wednesday.

Longtime manager Jarez said to TMZ that the rap legend went to the bathroom and never returned.

The friend became worried and went to check on Coolio, only to find him unconscious on the floor.

At about 4 p.m. PST, police were seen at the residence where the famous rapper was found dead.

Coolio, who has won a Grammy and sold a lot of platinum records, was on the rise in the late 1980s, but his Gangsta’s Paradise album shot him to fame in 1995.

A version of the song appeared on the soundtrack for the 1995 film Dangerous Minds, which starred Michelle Pfeiffer.

The songs Fantastic Voyage, 1,2,3,4 (Sumpin’ New), and It’s All the Way Live were also hugely successful for Coolio.

The Aw, Here It Goes theme song from the popular TV show Kenan & Kel was also performed by him.

The rapper shared a video from a Texas concert on Instagram only days before his untimely death.

He chose to let the video do the talking by not including a caption.

As his followers learn of his passing, that message has taken on the role of an unofficial monument.
