Ronald Bolaños is a professional baseball player who was born on August 23, 1996, in Santa Cruz del Norte in Cuba. He played for Mayabeque of the Cuban National Series in Cuba before moving to the USA.
He started his professional career with the San Diego Padres baseball team when he signed with them in August 2016 as an international free agent.
In 2017, he played for the Fort Wayne TinCaps, a Minor League Baseball team of the High-A Central and the High-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres. A year after being with the Padres, he played with the Lake Elsinore Storm. For the 2019 minor league season, he split the season between Lake Elsinore and the Amarillo Sod Poodles,
Ronald was promoted to the major leagues for the first time on September 2, 2019, by the Padres after they selected his contract. He made his MLB debut the next day, which was September 3 2019 for them.
Ronald was traded to the Kansas City Royals in July 2020. In June 2021, he was placed on the team’s 60-day injured list following a right forearm strain and was activated from the injured list on September 12 2020.
