Before joining the Seattle Mariners, Servais worked as an assistant general manager for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and director of player development for the Texas Rangers. Servais played catcher in the major leagues for eleven seasons. He was a member of the Houston Astros, Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants, and Colorado Rockies during his time in the National League.
