Trenton Cannon is an American football running back for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League. He played college football at Virginia State, and was drafted by the New York Jets in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Born on July 23, 1994 (age 27 years), in Hampton, Virginia, in the United States of America Trenton began his education at the Kecoughtan High School.
After playing one season for Shepherd University, Cannon transferred to Virginia State. In the 2015 season, he had 1,183 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns to go along with nine receptions for 182 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.
Cannon was drafted by the New York Jets in the sixth round (204th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. He became the first player from Virginia State to be drafted since Kelvin Kinney in 1996.
