According to authorities, a former Kremlin official was discovered shot to death in his £2 million Moscow mansion with his pregnant wife and teenage daughter.
His older daughter Anastasia discovered the remains of multimillionaire Vladislav Avayev, his wife Yelena, and their 13-year-old daughter in the 14th-floor apartment complex. Gunshot wounds were found on him, Yelena, 47, and Maria, 13.
Avayev formerly worked at Gazprombank as a high-ranking official and was a major figure in Vladimir Putin’s gas-for-roubles program to counter Western sanctions.
Avayev’s wife, Yelena has managed to stay off the internet, and as such, there is no information about her.
According to a neighbor, the West’s harsh sanctions may have harmed his firm. Kristina, a witness, stated: “I heard three bullets and shouting, as well as the screams of a lady.
“Then there were two more shots fired. Nobody else was yelling. I believed it was fireworks when I peered out the window… My mother assured me it was certainly gunshots, and it turned out they weren’t.”
Anastasia was summoned to the apartment by her father’s driver, who had become anxious when no one opened the door. Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine began in February, the oligarch is the latest to pass away.
