According to the Stockton Unified School District, a 15-year-old student named Alicia Reynaga died after being stabbed at Stagg High School in Stockton on Monday.
A representative for the Stockton Police Department stated the stabbing “appears to be a random crime” in an update.
At a press conference, Stockton Unified School District (SUSD) Superintendent John Ramirez Jr. claimed the student had been stabbed numerous times. The young woman was brought to a hospital, where she died later.

The suspect drove to the school’s front parking lot, parked, walked over to the student, and stabbed her, according to a news release from the Stockton Police Department.
A school district police officer swiftly apprehended the culprit, identified as 52-year-old Anthony Gray.
“The fact that the individual was caught so quickly merely proves that there were adults around and they were readily available,” Ramirez added.
