David Oliver “D. J.” Jones is a defensive tackle in American football for the National Football League’s San Francisco 49ers. He was born on January 19, 1995. He attended Ole Miss and played football. Jones was selected in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers.
Jones was widely pursued in football by colleges across the United States following his outstanding senior year of high school. Jones enrolled in East Mississippi Community College in Scooba, Mississippi, where he began his college career. He helped East Mississippi to a perfect 24–0 record and two NJCAA national championships during his two years as a starter.
As a freshman in 2013, he appeared in 12 games and racked up 49 tackles, 8.0 sacks, 5.0 TFLs, and 1 FF.
