L’Jarius Sneed plays cornerback for the National Football League’s Kansas City Chiefs. At Louisiana Tech University, he played football. In the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Chiefs selected him.
Sneed transitioned to cornerback at Louisiana Tech and saw action during his true freshman season, capped by an interception return touchdown in the Conference USA Championship Game against Western Kentucky. He started roughly half of his sophomore season at cornerback before moving into a permanent starting job his junior season.
He was shifted to free safety prior to his senior season and was nominated to the C-second-team USA’s all-conference team following the season. Sneed also competed in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl in 2020.
Sneed was taken by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, with the 138th overall pick. During his first training camp, the Chiefs reassigned him to cornerback.
Sneed recorded his first career interception in his professional debut against the Houston Texans in Week 1. Sneed was placed on injured reserve on September 30 following a collarbone break in the Chiefs’ week 3 game against the Baltimore Ravens.
On November 21, 2020, he was reactivated. He registered his first career sack in Week 15 against the New Orleans Saints, a 32–29 victory.
