Machine Gun Kelly, is an American rapper, singer, musician, and actor. He is also noted for combining current and alternative hip hop with rock.
The Machine Gun Kelly released four mixtapes between 2007 and 2010 before signing with Bad Boy Records. Lace-Up, his first studio album, was released at number four on the US Billboard 200 in 2012, and included his smash single “Wild Boy.”
General Admission (2015) and Bloom (2017), his second and third albums, were both tremendous hits, with the latter having the single “Bad Things” (with Camila Cabello), which peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100. His fourth studio album, Hotel Diablo (2019), included rap-rock.
The Machine Gun Tickets to My Downfall, Kelly’s fifth album, was released in 2020, marking a complete departure from hip hop and move into pop-punk. It was the only rock album that year to debut at number one on the Billboard 200, and it featured the single “My Ex’s Best Friend,” which reached number 20 on the Hot 100.
The Machine Gun Kelly made his feature film debut in the romantic drama Beyond the Lights (2014), and he has since appeared in the thriller Nerve (2016), horror Bird Box (2018), comedy Big Time Adolescence, and documentary The Dirt (both 2019).
