Ogbonnia Okoronkwo is an American football outside linebacker who currently plays for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League. He went to Oklahoma University and was a football player there.
Ogbonnia is a Gainesville, Florida native. He is descended from Nigerians. Okoronkwo produced 71 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and nine sacks as a junior in 2016. He won the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and was selected an All-American as a senior in 2017, compiling 75 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and eight sacks.
In the 2018 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Rams selected Okoronkwo in the fifth round (160th overall) as a defensive lineman. He was placed on the physically unable to perform list to begin the 2018 season as a result of the foot surgery he underwent in May of that year. On November 5, 2018, he was deactivated from the PUP.
After suffering an elbow injury on October 20, 2020, Okoronkwo was placed on the injured reserve by the National Football League. On the 5th of December, 2020, he was officially activated.
Okoronkwo was placed on injured reserve on September 2, 2021, following a car accident. On October 2, he was assigned to the unit.
