Nathan Edward Eovaldi is a Major League Baseball pitcher who pitches for the Boston Red Sox. He was a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Miami Marlins, New York Yankees, and Tampa Bay Rays in Major League Baseball.
Eovaldi won the World Series in 2018 and was named to the All-Star team in 2021 with the Red Sox.
Eovaldi played baseball for Alvin High School in Alvin, Texas. During his junior year of high school, Eovaldi underwent Tommy John surgery to repair his right elbow’s ulnar collateral ligament.
In his senior year, Eovaldi was named to Texas’ All-State team as an honorable mention. On a college baseball scholarship, he has committed to Texas A&M University.
Eovaldi was drafted in the 11th round of the 2008 MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers. Because of his initial Tommy John surgery, his draft stock had plummeted.
Eovaldi signed with the Dodgers for a $250,000 signing bonus, opting out of his Texas A&M commitment.
In 2008, he pitched for the Gulf Coast Dodgers of the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League, and in 2009, he pitched for the Great Lakes Loons of the Class A Midwest League.
