Madison Thomas, often known as Maddie, has been missing since she left her home in Southmead, Bristol, on April 26th, telling her family she was going shopping.
On Tuesday, Avon and Somerset Police began conducting house-to-house searches in the streets around her home.
“We’re now treating this as a child kidnapping,” Det Insp Laura Miller stated. Maddie is a foster kid who was last seen by her caregivers 15 days ago, with no verifiable sightings since.
“When Maddie has previously gone missing, she has been located in the company of adult men, and it is primarily because of this history that we suspect she is now with someone,” Det Insp Miller explained.
“Maddie is a foster kid, and no one has the authority to separate her from her caregivers.” She is vulnerable and at risk of being used. We’re really concerned about her safety and have a committed team working very hard to find her.”
According to Det Insp Miller, the “circumstances of her disappearance are highly concerning for us, her family, and her caregivers.”
“Maddie, if you see this, please call us as soon as possible to let us know you’re safe.” “Everyone is concerned about you,” the officer said.
Maddie is thought to be “anywhere in the country,” to have altered her hair color or to have changed her name. Officers have conducted CCTV searches in the Southmead area, where she was last seen.
“If you see someone who looks like Maddie online, at a shopping mall, or in a fast-food restaurant, please notify police,” Det Insp Miller added.
Anyone who sees the missing kid, who is 5ft (1.5m) tall and has shoulder-length brown hair, is requested to phone 999.
