It was recently reported that Xavier McCain, a sophomore football player at Linden High School, went away after getting an injury while engaging in a game.
The injury was claimed to have occurred during the game. Linden, New Jersey Mayor Derek Armstead, made the sad announcement on Facebook that a student at Linden High School named Xavier McClain had passed
away after sustaining a head injury on September 9 during a varsity game against Woodbridge (New Jersey). McClain had been playing in the game against Woodbridge (New Jersey).
Two weeks after sustaining the injuries, McClain passed away. According to information provided by NJ.com, the head injury took place on a kickoff that marked the beginning of the second half of the game.
Video of the game shows that a few minutes after the play, the play was paused, and an ambulance was brought out onto the field. In the end, we were able to continue playing after the delay.
Linden (1-2) won 31-0. The passing of McClain is not, unfortunately, the only tragedy that has rocked a high school football team so far this season.
The injury happened just one day after the death of a high school football player who went to a school in the next town.
On September 8, it was discovered that Ali Muhamad, a senior at Rahway High School, had passed away while he was asleep, as reported by NJ.com. Muhamad was found dead.
