Texas Rangers is a member of Major League Baseball’s American League (AL) West division. The team is based in Arlington, Texas. The Rangers played their home games at Globe Life Park in Arlington from 1994 to 2019, before relocating to the new Globe Life Field in 2020. There is a law enforcement agency with a name that is quite similar to that of this team.
The Washington Senators were established in 1961 as an expansion team after the city’s second Washington Senators baseball team relocated to Minnesota and became the Twins.
The team was originally known as the Washington Senators after the city’s second Washington Senators baseball team relocated to Minnesota and became the Twins (the original Washington Senators played primarily in the National League during the 1890s). In 1971, after one season in Washington, the Senators were displaced to Arlington, where they became the Rangers the next spring.
