Who died in Mötley Crüe?
Nicholas Charles Dingley better known as Razzle died on 8 December 1984. Razzle died as a result of a car crash when he and Vincent Neil were both drunk and driving to purchase more beer.Their journey home was cut short by a car accident. At 7:12 p.m., Razzle was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He had died instantly in the incident.
As a result of the collision, the second car’s occupants both suffered significant injuries, including brain damage. Due to Vince Neil’s involvement in the accident, he was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and DUI.
He had a BAC of 0.17, more than twice the legal limit of 0.10 in California at the time. Judge Edward Hinz Jr. sentenced Neil to 30 days in jail and five years probation in September 1985.
With Tommy Lee of Mötley Crüe, Andy McCoy went to find Neil and Razzle. As they passed by the scene of the accident, they saw Neil being arrested and taken away in the back of a police car.
They learned that Razzle had been transferred to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, and they were notified of this. This information was passed along to the rest of the band by McCoy’s manager, Seppo Vesterinen.
In 1984, he was laid to rest at Holy Cross Church on the Isle of Wight.
