Georgia Claire Flipo, G Flip’s true name, was born on September 22, 1994, in Melbourne, Australia. She is most known for her February single “Gay 4 Me.” The NME called it a “sizzling gay hymn.”
At the Australian Independent Record Labels Association Awards in 2019, G Flip was named Breakthrough Independent Artist of the Year. They won Best Australian Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards a year later.
G Flip became the drummer for the Australian band EMPRA when he was 19 years old. The band disbanded A year later, and the singer struck out on her own. About Us, their debut studio album, was released in August 2019.
According to the Australian website Student Edge, “the whole album is basically an open and honest depiction of my up and down relationship with my then-girlfriend, Jemma.”
They also admitted to the publication that they are terrible cooks. “Cooking is incredibly difficult for me, but singing and drumming come naturally to me. That’s just how my mind works.”
According to an Australian Broadcasting Company story from 2018, they spent the greater part of a year offering drum and guitar lessons to elementary school pupils to support themselves while working on their record.
Flipo is an out lesbian. They attended Our Lady of the Assumption Primary School (OLA) in Cheltenham, Victoria, and Star of the Sea College in Brighton, Victoria, where they graduated in 2011.
Flipo came out as non-binary on Instagram on June 13, 2021. They use the pronouns they/them. Flipo has been a Collingwood Football Club fan since childhood and is an AFL Women’s campaigner. They performed at the MCG for the NAB AFLW Grand Final in 2021.
G Flip is dating Chrishell Stause of Netflix reality TV series Selling Sunset, as confirmed in the reunion episode which aired May 6, 2022.
