Imee Marcos, born Maria Imelda Josefa Remedios “Imee” Romualdez Marcos happens to be a Filipina politician. She is currently the Senator in the Philippines and has previously served as governor of Ilocos Norte and as a member of the 2nd district of Ilocos Norte from 1998 to 2007.
Imee was born on November 12, 1955, in Mandaluyong in the Philippines. She is the first child of the former late president, Ferdinand Marcos and former first lady Imelda Marcos. Her parents were autocratic rulers in the Philippines.
Imee attended Princeton University, where she studied courses in religion and politics. Due to her parent’s autocratic ruling, her studies at Princeton sparked a lot of controversies as other students protested against her admission because they felt her presence at the university was a potential threat to students who opposed the Marcos regime.
In the 2019 elections, her educational background raised a lot of questions as it was revealed that, during her parents’ dictatorship, she falsely claimed to have attended some schools and also deceived the public that she graduated as “Cum Laude” and “class valedictorian”.
