Meet Brian O’Halloran – General Manager of Boston Red Sox
Brian O’Halloran, an American baseball executive, was born on October 28, 1971, and currently serves as the general manager of the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball.
In 2002, O’Halloran joined and became part of the Boston Red Sox as a baseball operations assistant, and in 2006, he was promoted to director of baseball operations. In November 2011, he was promoted to vice president and assistant general manager of the team.
In 2015, he was promoted to senior vice president, and in November 2018, he was promoted to executive vice president.
On October 25, 2019, O’Halloran was purportedly named the Red Sox’s next general manager, reporting to Chaim Bloom, who was designated Chief Baseball Officer on the same day. On October 28, the off-day of the 2019 World Series, an official announcement was made.
O’Halloran speaks Georgian and Russian in addition to English and has previously studied and worked in Georgia and Moscow. O’Halloran is the father of three children with his wife, Jean.
