Ramos had a stammer and a pronounced lisp, for which he was constantly tormented; he frequently had fistfights with classmates, occasionally with boxing gloves that he carried around with him; and he had few friends, according to classmates and friends.
Ramos was supposed to graduate from high school in 2022, but his frequent absences prevented him from doing so.
Ramos’ situation worsened when his best friend moved to another part of Texas, and he eventually dropped out. He grew his hair out and started wearing all-black attire and military boots after that.
