Zack Britton Height: How Tall Is Zack Britton?

Britton was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the third round of the 2006 Major League Baseball draft, as the 85th overall pick.

Rather than attend college, he accepted the $200,000 signing incentive to sign a deal with a professional sports team.

Baseball America ranked Britton as the Baltimore Orioles’ third-best prospect prior to the 2010 season.

He was listed as baseball’s No. 10 prospect on a midseason top 25 prospect list. Baseball America classified him as the No. 2 Orioles prospect before 2011.

The Orioles anticipated him to begin 2011 with the Norfolk Tides despite the fact he was the team’s best pitcher statistically throughout spring training. Everything changed five days later, on April 3, when he was recalled to the lineup in place of the ailing Brian Matusz. A 5-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field marked Britton’s MLB debut and finished a season-opening three-game sweep of the Rays. In six innings, he gave up one run on three hits.

During his first taste of interleague play, Britton showed off his batting talent. In 2011, he had the most hits by any pitcher in the American League (AL) with five in eight at-bats.

A double off Jason Marquis in the fourth inning of an 8–4 loss to the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park on June 17 was his first major league hit and run batted in (RBI).

Brandon Beachy allowed him to hit his first major league home run in the third inning of a 5–4 win over the Atlanta Braves on July 3.
