Taylor Fritz Parents: Meet Kathy May and Guy Fritz

Taylor Fritz

American tennis player Taylor Fritz is also known by his full name, Taylor Harry Fritz. On March 21, 2022, the Association of Tennis Professionals ranked him at No. 13 in the singles, and on July 26, 2021, it ranked him at No. 104 in the doubles.

On October 28, 1997, in San Diego, California, Taylor was born. He attended Torrey Pines High School, where as a freshman he took home the San Diego region’s CIF singles title. A few months into his sophomore year, he changed to an online high school so that he could devote all of his time to competing in ITF junior tournaments.

Before he participated in a low-level Grade-4 competition in March 2013 in Claremont, close to where he was raised, at the age of 15, Fritz had never participated in an ITF event. In 2015, Fritz advanced to at least the quarterfinals of all four junior Grand Slam competitions, including the French Open final, where he was upset by Tommy Paul, and the US Open final, where he triumphed over Paul.

He finished the year as the top-ranked boy’s junior tennis player thanks to this significant accomplishment, for which he was awarded the 2015 ITF Junior World Champion. The previous Americans to hold this championship were Andy Roddick in 2000 and Donald Young in 2005.
