Dan Walker is an English journalist, newsreader, and television presenter who presented Football Focus from 2009 to 2021 and has presented BBC Breakfast since 2016.
Being the son of the minister of a local church and a Welsh mother, Walker attended Ifield Primary School, Three Bridges Middle School, and Hazelwick Secondary School.
He had two professional certificates from the University of Sheffield – a BA (Hons) degree in History in 1998 and an MA degree in Journalism Studies in 1999.
After college, he started working at Sheffield’s Hallam FM. He gained work experience after winning a competition for young sports commentators.
In 1999, Walker moved to a full-time career with a four-year stint as a sports presenter and commentator for Manchester’s Key 103 radio.

Dan Walker announced in a Twitter video that he has quit the British Broadcasting Corporation after six years.
He said; “Hello, it’s Dan here. I have a little bit of news for you. In the next few weeks, I’m going to be leaving BBC Breakfast and moving to 5 News and to Channel 5.
