Justice Clarence Thomas has been hospitalized due to an infection, the Supreme Court said on Sunday, March 20, 2022.
Thomas, 73, was admitted to Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C., on Friday after experiencing “flu-like symptoms,” according to the court statement.
Thomas is being treated with anti-toxins and his side effects are lessening. He is resting easily and hopes to be delivered in a little while, the court said.
The Supreme Court is meeting this week to hear contentions in four cases. Thomas intends to take part in the cases regardless of whether he misses the contentions, the court said.
Thomas has been on the court starting around 1991.
