Ford Proctor is an American professional baseball player who currently plays for the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team of the Major League Baseball(MLB). He positions as the Catcher and Infielder for the team.
He was born December 4, 1996, in Beaumont, Texas, United States of America. Ford had his high school education at Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School, a private, parochial high school located in Beaumont, Texas.
During the 40th round of the 2015 MLB draft, Ford was drafted by the Kansas City Royals baseball team but he chose to play college baseball at Rice University instead of playing for the Royals.
In 2017, he played amateur baseball league with the Hyannis Harbor Hawks of the Cape Cod Baseball League. During the third round of the 2018 MLB draft, the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team drafted him. He then played minor league baseball for the Hudson Valley Renegades and ended up making his professional debut with them.
In 2019, Ford played for the Bowling Green Hot Rods and recorded a hit of .290/.383/.402 with six home runs, 53 RBIs, and 11 stolen bases over 121 games. He spent the 2021 baseball season playing for the Montgomery Biscuits with whom he slashed .244/.381/.419 with 12 home runs and 47 RBIs.Ford was finally added to the Tampa Bay Rays 40-man roster after the 2021 baseball season.
