Jarren Duran is with the Boston Red Sox as an outfielder. He has been with the Sox since 2021
Duran was invited to the Red Sox’s spring training for the second year in a row in 2021, and he began the season with the Triple-A Worcester Red Sox.
He was added to Boston’s 40-man roster on July 16. The next day, he made his Major League Baseball debut, starting in center field against the New York Yankees.
He got a hit off Gerrit Cole in his first at-bat and came around to score two batters later. On July 19, he hit his first major-league home run against Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Ross Stripling
On August 6, Duran was placed on the COVID-19 related injured list but returned two days later.
Duran was optioned back to Triple-A on August 24, after hitting.221 with 33 strikeouts in 89 plate appearances for Boston. When Hunter Renfroe was placed on the bereavement list, he was recalled to Boston two days later.
Duran was placed on the COVID-related list on September 3. On September 23, he was activated and assigned to Worcester.
Duran appeared in 33 games for Boston during the regular season, batting.215 with two home runs and ten RBIs. He also batted .258 with 16 home runs and 36 RBIs in 60 at-bats for Worcester.
