Joshua Edward Lowe is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball. He was born on February 2, 1998. (MLB). In 2021, he made his MLB debut.
Lowe went to Marietta, Georgia’s Pope High School. He was a pitcher and a third baseman. He was named Georgia’s Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year as a senior, hitting.391 with 11 home runs and 39 RBI (RBIs).
He signed a letter of intent to play baseball for the Florida State Seminoles in college.
Lowe was selected 13th overall in the first round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft by the Tampa Bay Rays on June 9, 2016.
He joined with both the GCL Rays and the Princeton Rays and spent his first professional season with both teams, batting .249 with five home runs and 26 RBIs in 54 games.
Lowe batted .268 with eight home runs, 55 RBIs, 22 stolen bases in 118 games with the Bowling Green Hot Rods in 2017, and .238 with six home runs, 47 RBIs, and 18 stolen bases in 105 games with the Charlotte Stone Crabs in 2018.
Since the beginning of 2017, Lowe has only played outfield. He started the new year with the Montgomery Biscuits. Following the season, he was selected to play for the Salt River Rafters in the Arizona Fall League.
