Diane Postler-Slattery, Ph.D., president and CEO of MyMichigan Health, and her husband, Don, perished in an aircraft accident in northwest Florida on Tuesday night.

The Midland-based health organization, which was formerly known as MidMichigan Health, revealed the announcement on Wednesday.

Postler-Slattery, 62, and her husband were thought to be onboard a Cessna 182 single-engine plane that disappeared at 7 p.m.

The Detroit News reported that the plane crashed approximately two miles from Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport in Panama City, Florida, on Tuesday, citing information from the Federal Aviation Administration.

According to WJHG, the jet belongs to Donald Slattery and was discovered in a highly forested area near the airport.

Around 7 p.m., the jet vanished off the radar. On social media, Tuesday night, the Bay County Sheriff’s Office reported a shooting two miles north of the airport.

The jet had flown in from Michigan and had made a pit break in McMinnville, Tennessee before heading to Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport.

The jet was ultimately recovered utilizing drones in a highly forested region, according to sheriff’s authorities, after other agencies were engaged in the search.
