Who Is Nick Candy?
Nicholas Anthony Christopher Candy was born on January 23, 1973. Christian Candy, his younger brother, is a year older than him. Nick and Christian both went to Prior Preparatory School before attending Epsom College.
Nick finally graduated from the University of Redding with a degree in Human Geography, but Christian dropped out of King’s College London’s business management program.
Candy is a real estate developer who has made a fortune building homes for the wealthy and famous in the UK and the US.
He got his start in the market with his younger brother Christian in 1995, when they acquired a property in London’s Earl’s Court district with a £6,000 loan from their grandmother and rebuilt it to make a £50,000 profit in 18 months.
The brothers proceeded to acquire property to flip alongside full-time work for the rest of the 1990s until moving into property full-time. They operate different businesses yet work together.
Throughout the 2000s, notable developments included One Hyde Park, NoHo Square, and the Chelsea Barracks. The Candy brothers also traveled to the United States in 2007 to work on a doomed project in California. Nick plans to sell his One Hyde Park penthouse for £175 million in 2021.
Candy has twins from a previous engagement with socialite Emily Crompton, but he has been married to Australian actress and singer Holly Valance since 2012 – Katy Perry was paid £1.2 million to perform at their wedding in Beverley Hills. He and his wife are the parents of two girls.
Candy was the primary fundraiser for Conservative London mayoral candidate Shaun Bailey, and she was believed to have given £100,000 to the Conservative Party in March 2020.
