The couple began their relationship as two buddies from Texas who attended the same school. Matthews and the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback first became acquainted in 2011, when Matthews was a student at Whitehouse High School in Kansas City.
On August 1, 2020, Patrick Mahomes announced his proposal to Brittany Matthews. The romantic proposal, which took place one day after Matthews’ 25th birthday in a VIP box at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, just after the team received their Super Bowl 54 rings, was seen by Matthews’ family and friends.
She posted a photo of the proposal set up on Instagram, which included expensive arrangements of white flowers and light-up marquee lettering that read “Will You Marry Me?” she wrote, “So this happened today!” in the caption.
The couple revealed that they were expecting their first child together in October 2020, only two months after getting engaged. The baby will be born in February 2021.
