Peter Stephen Paul Brook is an English producer-director of Shakespeare’s plays whose daring productions of the works of other dramatists greatly contributed to the development of avant-garde theatre in the 20th century.
Brook directed his first Shakespeare play, King John, for the Birmingham Repertory Theatre in 1945. Brook was one of the most prominent British directors at a young age.

Irina Brook is a British-French producer and stage director. In 2002, she was awarded the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture.
In May of 2017, Brook was promoted to Officier of the Order of Arts and Letters and was granted the Legion of Honor.
Brook was born in Paris to film and stage director Peter Brook and actress Natasha Parry, and he grew up in England and France.
Her family is of Jewish Lithuanian origin. She attended Bedales School and then Stella Adler’s theatre class in New York City.
She performed in a number of off-Broadway productions, including the lead role in Irish Coffee. She returned to Paris to perform in her father’s production of The Cherry Orchard, followed by Dom Juan by Molière at the Bouffes du Nord.
She then relocated to London, where she acted in movies, television (including a 1990 episode of Bergerac titled “My Friend Charlie”), and stage shows.
