Shahabuddin Ahmed, who happens to be the former president and chief justice of Bangladesh, has died at the age of 92 while at the intensive care unit of the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka.
Shahabuddin Ahmed served as the President of Bangladesh from 1996 to 2001, and the Chief Justice of Bangladesh from 1990 to 1995.
Born on February 1, 1930, in Kendua Upazila, Bangladesh, Shahabuddin was said to have passed away on March 19, 2022.
Ahmed’s father Talukdar Resat Ahmed Bhuiyan was a philanthropist. Ahmed, after he passed his high school education, furthered his education to the University of Dhaka in 1948 and earned a degree in economics in 1951.
Shahabuddin is also said to have a master’s in international relations from the University of Dhaka.
Ahmed died on 19 March 2022 at the Combined Military Hospital after he was admitted to the intensive care unit of the hospital last month February 2022.
He was said to have left behind his wife Anowara Begum as well as his two sons and three daughters.
