Stephanie Rose McGovern HonFREng is a journalist and television presenter from the United Kingdom.
She hosts Steph’s Packed Lunch on Channel 4 now. She was the primary business presenter for BBC Breakfast and frequently co-hosted the entire program.
Born in 1982 in North Shields, Tyne and Wear, McGovern was raised in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire. She is the daughter of Eamonn McGovern, a talented artist.
In 1998, at the beginning of her sixth-form studies, she was awarded an Arkwright Engineering Scholarship in recognition of her leadership potential within the engineering sector.
In the sixth form at Macmillan Academy between 1998 and 2000, she studied mathematics, physics, design technology, and business studies.
McGovern was a junior member of Black & Decker’s Six Sigma team in Spennymoor, saving the company £150,000 a year by improving production techniques used for the Leaf Hog (Blower/Vacuum/Mulcher).
She later received the EEF/Year in Industry Award for Contribution to the Business.
