Sydney Carter is a professional basketball player who is now available as a free agent. She was born on November 18, 1990.
She attended Texas A&M University, where she played alongside Sydney Colson and San Antonio Stars center Danielle Adams. During her junior year, she helped the Aggies win the NCAA title, which was her first in college basketball.
The All-Star Girls Basketball Report ranked Carter as the No. 63 overall talent and the No. 10 point guard in the Class of 2008. When she was a senior in 2008, she was recognized as the district MVP, the all-state and all-region honorees, and she scored 14 points in the TGCA All-Star Game.
The 2007 season saw Carter named to the All-Area Second Team after being named to the District 8-5A MVP and MVP team, respectively. As a junior, she averaged 11.9 points and 4.3 rebounds, passing the 1,200-point mark in her career.
Carter was selected by the Chicago Sky in the third round of the 2012 WNBA Draft (28th overall), making her the 28th overall pick. She went on to play for four years, as well as six years overseas. She once was the Video Coordinator for the Texas A&M WBB team.
Carter signed a training camp contract with the Atlanta Dream on March 18, 2013, however, he was released before the start of the regular season the following month. Carter signed a contract with the Connecticut Sun on June 10, 2013.
