The Los Angeles Chargers are a member of the National Football League and are headquartered in the Greater Los Angeles area (NFL). They won the Super Bowl in 1995, representing the American Football Conference (AFC).
The team was one of the initial eight members of the American Football League when it was created in 1960. (AFL). In their debut season, the Chargers went 10–4 and progressed to the inaugural AFL championship game, where they were defeated by the Houston Oilers. The squad relocated to San Diego after only a year in Los Angeles.
The Chargers won 12 of their 14 games in their first season in San Diego, and they reached the AFL championship game for the second time (and again lost to the Oilers).
