Yandy Díaz, born Yandy Díaz Fernández is a Cuban professional baseball player who positions as a third baseman and outfielder for the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team of the Major League Baseball(MLB).
Yandy was born on August 8, 1991, in Sagua La Grande in Cuba. His parents are Elsa María Fernández Andrade and Jorge Diaz. His father, Jorge Diaz is a former player of professional baseball in the United States.
Before moving to the USA in 2013 to play professional baseball, Yandy played baseball in Cuba for the Naranjas de Villa Clara baseball team
In August 2013, he signed with the Cleveland Indians for an amount of $300,000 signing bonus. He was promoted by the Indians to the Columbus Clippers of the Class AAA International League in September, and he was also assigned to the Arizona Fall League after the 2015 regular season.
