German sportswear company Adidas (ADSGn.DE) has suspended its partnership with the Russian Football Union (RFS) with immediate effect.
This was announced by a company spokesperson on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.
The spokesperson, according to reports did not give additional details however, it is believed that the decision is in line with a series of those made by sports bodies to cut ties to Russian-affiliated bodies or companies following the war in Ukraine.
In other news, Belarus joined the Russian intrusion of Ukraine on Tuesday, with the nation’s soldiers entering the Chernihiv area in northern Ukraine, Ukrainian specialists affirmed.
In a tweet posted on Tuesday morning, the Ukrainian parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, affirmed prior reports that Belarusian soldiers were on Ukrainian soil.
“Belarusian troops have entered Chernihiv region. The information was confirmed to the public by Vitaliy Kyrylov, spokesman for the North Territorial Defense Forces. More details later,” the tweet said.
As indicated by reports, a Belarusian column of 33 units had entered the locale, found north of Kyiv, with versatile correspondences cut.
The Belarusian rollout comes a few days after dictator pioneer Alexander Lukashenko held a mandate on proposed changes to the constitution that would permit him to solidify control of the nation and end Belarus’ status as an atomic free zone – opening the way for a potential sending of Russian atomic weapons in the country.
