James Paxton is a Canadian professional baseball pitcher for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB).
Before joining the Boston Red Sox, he played for the University of Kentucky, Seattle Mariners, and New York Yankees.
In the wake of moving on from high school in 2006, Paxton went to the University of Kentucky, where he played school baseball for the Kentucky Wildcats ball club in the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
As a green bean, he drove the Wildcats in appearances with 25 and had a 2-0 record in helping with one save.
In 2008 as a sophomore, Paxton worked his direction into the beginning pivot halfway through the season and acquired 11 beginnings while showing up. He completed the year 4-2 with a 2.92 ERA.
That very year Paxton pitched a total game shutout over Ole Miss to win the SEC Tournament procuring him SEC Pitcher of the Week.
Because of injury, he didn’t take an interest in the NCAA Tournament.
