Vidal Bruján, a Dominican professional baseball second baseman, and outfielder for the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball was born on February 9, 1998.
In October 2014, Bruján signed as an international free agent with the Tampa Bay Rays. He made his professional debut with the Dominican Summer League Rays in 2015, batting.301 in 60 games with two home runs, 20 RBIs, and 22 stolen bases.
In 51 games with the Gulf Coast Rays and Hudson Valley Renegades in 2016, he hit.271 with one home run and eight RBIs, and in 67 games with Hudson Valley in 2017, he hit.285 with three home runs, 20 RBIs, and 16 stolen bases.
In 122 games with the Bowling Green Hot Rods (where he was selected a Midwest League All-Star) and the Charlotte Stone Crabs, Bruján hit.320/.403/.459 with nine home runs, 53 RBIs, and 55 stolen bases.
He divided the 2019 season between the Charlotte Knights and the Montgomery Biscuits, batting.277/.346/.389/.735 with four home runs and forty RBIs.
Following the 2019 season, he spent time with the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League.
Following the 2019 season, Bruján was added to the Rays’ 40–man roster. Due to the postponement of the minor league season due to the COVID-19 epidemic, he did not appear in any games in 2020. Bruján was selected to play in the All-Star Futures Game in June 2021.
