Hanser Alberto is a Dominican professional baseball infielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the Texas Rangers, Baltimore Orioles, and Kansas City Royals.
It was a bumpy offseason for Alberto, who was traded and claimed off waivers three times. As a result of Zack Britton’s signing, Alberto was traded to the New York Yankees on November 2, 2018, then designated for assignment on January 11, 2019.
As of February 19, however, the team designated him for assignment in order to create a way for Josh Osich, who was claimed off waivers a few hours later by the Orioles.
On February 22, he was drafted by the San Francisco Giants but returned to the Orioles on March 1 after barely a week with the team. In the ninth inning of a 15–3 loss to the New York Yankees at Camden Yards on April 7, 2019, Alberto was summoned as a bullpen pitcher.
He hit a batter, allowed a two-run homer, walked two, and recorded a force out and two flyouts with the score 13-3.
As the third Oriole in three weeks, he beat the Kansas City Royals 14–2 at Kauffman Stadium on August 30, 2019, with his first-ever five-hit game, joining colleagues Renato Nez and Anthony Santander.
